But now he’s out…

I distinctly remember sitting in my the apartment on ul Felicjanek the night of the election.  The apartment shared a wall with an apartment full of French guys.  We had a TV that played reruns of Little House on the Prairie dubbed in Polish but the French were posh and had satellite TV.  You could hear the newscast through the thin walls and then sometime in the evening all you could hear were  was cheering and shouts for joy, Sarkozy had been named President.  Everyone was excited, at least all the French university students I knew were.  I don’t quite remember what I felt about him at the time, I just remember how concerned I was over the vote Le Pen had received.

Its a different story today…Sarkozy is outHollande is in.  Quite a different story from that was told in 2007.

Europe is in quite a transition period.  Funny enough just 5 year ago there was so much talk of a stronger EU…creation of a constitution…the roll of the president….but now today its just a question as to whether or not the EU will even survive.
